How many times have you heard the money is in the list? It's
true the money is in the list, the problem is, most people
don't realize the type of list they are talking about. Many
people struggle to build a list of 1,000 subscribers only
to find their response rate is less than 1/2 of 1%. This can
be discouraging, because it can take two, maybe three years
to build a list of 1,000 people.
When you hear someone say the money is in the list, they are
not talking about a list like the one above although they
may have started with a list like that. They are talking
about a list full of nothing but buying customers. A list of
people that have bought from you before are more likely to
buy from you again. The response rate of a list like that
can be anywhere from 5% to 10%. If you have ever heard
someone say you don't need a large list to make money this
is the type of list they are talking about.
To build a list of paying customers, first you will need a
product to sell. You will then need to set up a join venture
with others that have their own list of paying customers
already. Every time you sell a product you will receive their
email address. You don't put that email address in with your
other list that email address goes in your special list of
paying customers. If you build a list of four or five
thousand paying customers you will have a list that will
pay you more than those that have a list of 100,000.
